The Fifth Season Garden Group had requested a Garden Talk and Floral Art Demonstration with Question and Answer followed by Afternoon Tea and a Garden Ramble. We were Blessed with a delightful group and excellent weather. This was the final garden tour of the season. Ironically, it also was the magical transition moment between Autumn and Winter known as the 'Fifth Season', a time when flowering plants and vegetables of all four seasons along with autumnal foliage are on display at the same time but for a brief moment. This is what President Neville Creighton wrote about their visit in the Fifth Season Garden Group Newsletter:
"What a pleasant and enjoyable afternoon was experienced by the good turn out at Dale and John’s Quarter Acre Paradise.Dale gave us a fascinating talk on winter gardening the content of which was a surprise to us all. It included cosmology, looking after our health, and what to plant and how and when. Then John delighted us with a demonstration of floral art when in a short space of time he produced an arrangement using materials that are easily available in most of our gardens. The result was raffled and won by your president. Other lovely raffles were won by Ray, Steven and Murray. This was all rounded out by a leisurely ramble around the garden and afternoon tea. Thanks Dale and John for a very happy and sociable time."
Thank you Neville and all you Fifth Season Garden Group members for your support and a lovely way to celebrate the end of the Autumn Garden Show season at the Quarter Acre Paradise Gardens!
