The Cape Primrose, Streptocarpus, are becoming very popular pot plants for indoors, the warm glasshouse or frost free shade house.
In warm humid, bright spots out of strong sun they flower from late winter to autumn.
They demand similar care to African Violets but are hardier and easier to maintain.
Feed with African Violet food and keep moist.
The small seed and leaf cuttings strike quickly now in a sand/ peat mix if kept very warm and lightly moist.
Once new plants are big enough to handle, transplant into small pots filled with African Violet soil.
These seedlings will begin blooming next spring.
