Garlic (Allium sativum) has been cultivated for at least 6,000 years. It has been a wild plant species for perhaps one hundred thousand years. Garlic has been found preserved in the Pyramids of Egypt. It has been noted in both Greek and Roman accounts, legends and ruins.
