There are many flowers that can be planted out now for winter and spring displays that will literally blanket the garden with a carpet of flowers. Many of these cool weather flowers are low, spreading plants that hug the ground for warmth against the winter cold.
Because of their natural low, spreading habit these plants make ideal ground cover plants in rockeries, along borders, and grouped in large mass plantings and beds. They are also very effective inter-planted amongst spring flowering bulbs.
